Name: Hitsuki

Age: Approximately 100 years old. (Its age as an officially recognized clan.)

Founder: The first person documented to possess the Yume no Chakra was Hanako Hitsuki, born about 160 years from the present. She was a shrine maiden, and eventually a ninja during the wars of the time, responsible for the upkeep of the shrine honoring the Guardian Moth Spirits of Konoha.

Clan History: The story of the Hitsuki clan begins with a maiden named Hanako Hitsuki. In a time of political turmoil, a priestess named Hanako Hitsuki who lived in the Land of Fire was discovered to have a very unusual spiritual power. Able to see into the ether of reality between the worlds of humans and spirits, she began to attract requests from all over the surrounding region to communicate with the spirits of shrines, either to lift perceived curses or pray for bounty. Being able to actually communicate with the spiritual realm, her prayers were actually answered. Because of this, she began to garner a devoted following that saw her as some sort of deity come down to earth. Worried for his political position, the current ruler of the outlying lands saw to it that false witnesses were brought forward to declare her a "witch in league with evil spirits". His gambit successful, the ruler had Hanako banished from the county and wiped his hands of her for good.

Having no immediate family, Hanako simply wandered doing her best to survive; offering blessings and doing simple labor in exchange for food and shelter. The rumors of her possible 'connections' spreading ahead of her, though, she could not find a village that would take her in. 

It was when she found herself in the newly formed ninja village of Konoha that she was shocked by the open arms of what is now known as its first Hokage. Offering her a new home, he even offered her purpose in life by pointing her towards the mysterious shrine located deep in the surrounding forest. Perhaps she could unlock its mysteries? That she did, and reaching out to the long forgotten Moth Spirits she saw a once proud Clan that had lost its pride and purpose. Reminded of herself, she offered to tend to the shrine and reestablish the connection between humans and the Moths. What Hanako did not know was that her 'unusual spiritual power' was the genetic manifestation of her surprisingly pure lineage as a descendant of Tsukuyomi.

This is the true lineage of the Histuki clan: they possess the chakra of their ancestor Tsukuyomi. Ambassadors of the spiritual realm walking the earth, those that possess particularly strong strains of their bloodline can see past the veil of what we call 'reality' into the true truth of existance.


Jutsu Name: Magen: Kyo Tenchi-ten (Demonic Illusion: Mirror Heaven and Earth Change)
Jutsu Description: ((This particular jutsu is not exactly unique to the Hitsuki Clan, but they are some of the rare few capable of using it. I also modified it slightly to make more sense in terms of RPing.)) Using enhanced insight into an opponent's activating Genjtusu, the user overpowers it by quickly casting a superior one of their own and integrating the enemy jutsu within it. This effectively dispels the Genjutsu cast on the user. The end result is the victim being unexpectedly caught in a Genjutsu when it at first appears that their opponent was at their mercy.

Name: Yume no Chakra (Dream Chakra)

Description: Members of the Hitsuki Clan are distinguished by their unique chakra. It doesn't exist within the five elements or any combination thereof, but is rather the 'element' of illusions: dreams. Logically, this robs them of a possible advantage when using elemental jutsu, but allows them to use, detect, and dispel Genjutsu more easily and effectively than their peers in exchange. They also possess unnatural insight into individual Genjutsu and are able to identify them on a subconcious level. In summary, this makes their illusions more vivid and harder to break than the norm while they can more easily break hostile illusions, including those typically considered "unbreakable". This special chakra also comes as a set with a Doujutsu known as the Muchigan (Eye of the Goddess) in honor of the clan's ancestor.  

In stark contrast to the demonic heritage of other Doujutsu that stems from the Juubi, the Muchigan is the result of chakra of a quite opposite nature. This is because rather than tracing the bloodline back to a demon, the Hitsuki clan trace their lineage back to the goddess Tsukuyomi. 

The power of the Muchigan can be best described as "insight". The eyes that they inherited give them the unique ability to see into and through the fabric of apparent "reality" to grasp the truth of anything they see. Basically, what they see they comprehend, and the level of information they can glean from a glance only increases as their eyes evolve. Eventually, their ability to comprehend whatever they see can evolve to the point that they can predict what is going to happen around them using intelligent, educated guesses. Looking into their hypnotically shifting eyes is also a big mistake.

Members of the Hitsuki Clan are able to affect and fool those that Genjutsu normally wouldn't affect ( e.g. Doujutsu users and Sensors) of equal skill level as a normal user of Genjutsu would affect another ordinary individual. This odd chakra also interferes with aforementioned Doujutsu users' and Sensors' ability to provide feedback on members of the Hitsuki Clan, making them "hazy" or even taking them off the radar completely to the former, and giving the latter "static". 

A known weakness of the Yume no Chakra bloodline is that "Dream" elemental chakra is not very compatible with elemental techniques. Not only do Hitsuki lack a normal element to call their own, but their elemental techniques are actually weaker on the whole as compared to others.

Much as the other chakra elements have a unique effect when channeled through a chakra blade or other such objects, (such as Futon, Raiton, and Doton increasing cutting power, piercing power, and hardness respectively), Yumeton Chakra has its own similar effect. Best described as "incorporeality", it is simply put the ability to be physically present one moment and not the next. 

Though it requires excellent chakra control, the Hitsuki can make chakra blades and other ninja tools phase straight through objects and then have them regain their solid form on command. With proper chakra control, a user can make one part of an object regain its form while the rest is still incorporeal. This presents several key differences from the slightly similar Futon and Raiton. While Yumeton's incorporeality removes the actual toughness and density of the material it's passing through from the equation, even when the user makes it solid again it is never actually sharper than it was to begin with. Also, while incorporeal, the objects lose their ability to defend the user. For example, a Yumeton user could cause their blade to pass straight through armor and then make it solid as it passed through the opponent's gut. They could not, however, use it defensively in an attempt to cut something from the air or use it to slice a boulder in half.

Stage 1: A Hitsuki showing newly developed signs of the Yume no Chakra bloodline will be instantly recognizable by the chromatic tint of their chakra. At this stage, the Muchigan reveals itself as greatly enlarged pupils filled with undulating colors. Using their new eyes, the bearer can see details about the world around them that aren't immediately obvious to others. Able to be sensed are things such as the materials and density of what they look at and sources of chakra. Looking at individuals allows them to see the element of their chakra, their vague mental state, their general state of health, and if they posses a bloodline of their own something will seem "different" or "off" about them.

Stage 2: Once the bloodline has fully manifested, the chakra of someone possessing the Yume no Chakra will be an unmistakable rainbow of colors. At this stage, the bearer can cast any Genjustu they know using one-handed seals or with direct eye contact. A Genjutsu cast with eye contact in this way is even more vivid than their already advanced illusions; making it harder still to break. The Muchigan changes in appearance to mark this stage: The bearer's pupils still expand, but become a snowy white instead. Their irises also take on the undulating colors that their pupils used to possess. 

At this stage, the Muchigan reveals even more information at a glance. The bearer can read their surroundings down to the air currents, and anything that isn't real will usually stick out like a sore thumb. When looking at an individual, their vision is now precise enough to see when and where they mold chakra. The bearer can now see a more precise picture of an individual's mental and physical state. If they view techniques being performed, they will have a general idea of what's about to happen even if they've never seen it before. Additionally, if they view another individual with a bloodline, the general idea of said bloodline will become apparent to them.

Stage 3: At this final stage of mastery, the Muchigan evolves once more. The white of their pupils takes on a milky, reflective sheen not unlike opal. The previously chaotic splash of colors in their irises takes on an orderly, fine-veined crystalline appearance not unlike gemstones or stained glass, but continues to shift hypnotically. 

At this stage, the bearer has complete comprehension of everything they see down to the molecular detail if their personal knowledge extends so far. Every ambient mote of chakra is there and plain to see. Looking at an individual reveals absolutely everything about them short of completely abstract things such as their name. Their thoughts are practically written on their forehead, and their precise state of health and stamina is obvious. Anything strange or unusual about them such as bloodlines is instantly revealed in full detail, and their chakra reserves are able to be constantly monitored. By reading the currents of chakra in a foe's body, the bearer can make accurate predictions about what they're going to do next if it involves chakra. Because of this, when an opponent uses a technique in their field of view, the bearer can already tell what they're doing before the jutsu is even released. If they've seen the technique before, then the game is definitely up.


Jutsu Name: Yume Bunshin (Dream Clone)
Jutsu Description: The user forms up to one clone for for each successive ninja rank they possess. (Genin, Chunin, Jounin, Kage) Because the technique is a Ninjutsu using the 'element' of illusions, the result is a hybrid somewhere between the two that needs a certain amount of concentration: hence the limited numbers. The clones appear as their creator except for their color, which is a random and ever changing chaotic splash. The only noise they seem to be capable of making is a distorted, mocking laugh that seems to be of several different pitches overlaid over one another.

They have two special characteristics: First, they are highly chakra efficient and can be replaced seemingly without end by a competent user. Second, they act as walking 'radar jammers' that frustrate attempts to sense chakra in the immediate fifty feet. 

While they are solid enough to inflict physical damage, they are not solid enough to avoid being quite easily dispersed by any half-solid blow. They are capable of using Yumeton: Kikanshi, physical attacks, and ninja tools, but nothing else.

Jutsu Name: Amanoukihashi (Floating Bridge of Heaven)
Jutsu Description: Named after the fabled bridge between the earth and the heavenly realm of the gods in Shinto lore, this eye technique acts to bridge the gap between illusion and reality. With a glow of their eyes, the user creates one or more objects within their field of vision from nothing from their dreams. The type of objects that can be manifested change as the user's skill with the Yume no Chakra grows. The jutsu cannot create living things or poisons. The technique is focused on points in space within their field of vision, and so has several limits as to its use. It cannot manifest items where the user cannot see, meaning it cannot, say, create an exploding tag in somebody's stomach. It could, however, create items directly on or over another object. Because the focus is on a point in space, and not an object itself, it can't target a moving object in an attempt to manifest something on it. The user can, however, predict the movements of an object and create something in front of it to intercept it. The items created by the technique take some time to fully manifest, making it even more difficult to use it in a direct manner against a moving creature. The amount of time it takes to create an object decreases with the user's skill, increasing its viability. A created object lasts around an hour before vanishing in an illusionary swirl. The user can also dismiss items prematurely to regain a small portion of the chakra used in the technique.

At it's most basic level, the user can manifest modest amounts of simple objects such as shuriken, kunai, and ninja wire to help them in combat. It can also create other mundane items that, nonetheless, may prove to be useful in other instances, if only in non combat situations. It takes about two seconds for the objects to fully manifest at this level.

At level two of the Doujutsu, the user can create much larger amounts of small items, closer to the Kage Shuriken no Jutsu, as well as more intricate objects themselves. They can manifest items up to the size of a dresser or so, if they wish. Objects manifest in about one second at this level.

The final level of the technique allows the user to manifest vast amounts of small objects or an object the size of a house, and can create objects that are not mundane. (I.E. they need chakra to be created, such as exploding tags and chakra knives) The catch to this is that the user must not only have personal knowledge on how to create the object without Amanoukihashi, but they must expend the same amount of chakra as if they had created it ahead of time. Objects manifest within the space of half a second at this level.

Jutsu Name: Yumeton: Ayatsurishibai (Dream Release: Puppet Show)
Jutsu Description: An illusion accessible only to the Hitsuki, it is nonetheless fairly straightforward as Genjutsu go, at least at the begining. Like many Genjutsu, the user vanishes upon using it. The victim is then assaulted by thin rainbow strings that attempt to entangle and bind them. Standard "vanish and bind" Genjutsu, right? Not quite. If a victim doesn't dispel the illusion and allows it to take them, they experience a strange sensation as the world around them becomes a stage with a spotlight directed at them. Everything around them becomes like a puppet show, with trees becoming paper props, etc. With a popping noise, they believe that they become made of wood with noticeable joints as the strings slide up and attach themselves to their limbs. Their mouth even drops in the squared off jawline associated with puppets.

Once this process is complete, the user of the Genjutsu can use their invasive chakra to force the victim to move and act how they will it. This control is not perfect, however, and the victim's movements really do end up looking wooden and exaggerated. While the user can force their victim to use jutsu, the one thing they cannot control is their mouth. The victim can shout warnings about what they are doing and whatnot.

The technique can actually be dispelled just like any other Genjutsu, although the victim is unable to do so once squarely caught and bound. If an ally is able to cause an intense amount of pain to either the user or the victim, or if they're able to get in close and release the Genjutsu while they are inevitably under attack, the technique will indeed break and the victim will go free.

Jutsu Name: Takamagahara (High Plain of Heaven)
Jutsu Description: An eye technique named after the heavenly realm where the Kami are said to dwell. So named because of its ability to draw the user into the realm of illusion.

Using their unique chakra to blur themselves into illusion, this hybrid technique is used much like a Kawarimi to escape attack. Upon using this technique, the user's eyes flash for a brief moment. This translates the "incorporeality" power of their Yumeton chakra to themselves. Because of their bodies and chakra having a natural inclination towards this ability, as well as the fact that it is directed at themselves only and not at any other force, such a thing is possible. While the technique is active, their chakra drains rapidly, but this is rarely a concern because they only activate it as needed and then shut it off. Fading into illusion, if the user is damaged in this state they simply swirl away. They then have three seconds to reform at any location they could have actually traveled to in that time. After they reform, there is a period of five seconds where the user cannot use the technique again. Having been completely without presence in the world of reality, they escape whatever harm had been directed at them. This technique is one of the main reasons that the Hitsuki are so highly regarded, because any opponent of someone capable of using Takamagahara must rely on vastly superior speed, or attack like a true ninja lest watch their attacks fail one after the other; run of the mill head on attacks simply won't work on a Histuki when they can use this technique. Someone used to just throwing nuclear jutsu around without any inclination for strategy will find themselves quite unable to land a blow.

Jutsu Name: Yumeton Genjutsu no Fuuin: Souan no Mugen Shifuku (Dream Release Sealing Genjutsu: Hermitage of Infinite Bliss)
Jutsu Description: Considered the "Ultimate Hitsuki Technique". It's the highest ranked jutsu among all of the Yumeton. It's highly-regarded nature comes from a very special ability it possesses. This Genjutsu can be used on humans for a similar effect, but its true power is revealed when it is used against a tailed beast. Using the divine nature of their chakra passed down from Tsukuyomi, those that possess the Yume no Chakra can use this jutsu to subjugate the tailed beasts and render them inert for a short while. If the tailed beast in question is roaming free, the user just directs it at them as normal. If the tailed beast is sealed within a human, time stops in the normal world as the user enters the mindscape of the Jinchūriki and seals the beast there. 

Visually, four shining orbs of chakra come into being around the target and quickly connect themselves to form a transparent pyramid. The pyramid quickly shrinks down to the size of a basketball, taking the one inside with it. Chains covered in sealing tags then appear and wrap around the pyramid and the jutsu is complete. If the tailed beast is within a Jinchūriki, they can no longer communicate with the beast or call on its chakra. Any remaining chakra they had borrowed from the beast also quickly dissipates. Depending on the skill of the user, the jutsu usually lasts for a few hours before the beast can break free. 

If the technique is used on a human and they fail to free themselves, their consciousness is also sealed into an inert state, and they simply collapse. Because it's a "sealing Genjutsu", a victim cannot be woken until the illusion fades once they fall victim to it.

Okay, summary of edits:

The Hitsuki Doujutsu now has a name. I changed it so it is accessible in stages to all Histuki instead of one lump award at the top tier. In the process of doing that, I ended up explaining what it can do in much greater detail.

Because the Doujutsu has become a more dominant part of the clan, I changed two of the clan jutsu to Doujutsu techniques. The jutsu used to be "Yumeton: Kikanshi", and "Yumeton: Kawarimi", and are now "Amanoukihashi" and "Takamagahara" respectively. Their effects are mostly unchanged, though they are a bit different to make them more Doujutsu-...y. They are exactly the same in essence, though, so there shouldn't be a problem.

Another jutsu, I changed completely however because I kinda didn't like how it turned out. What used to be "Yumeton: Boke" is now an entirely different technique, "Yumeton: Ayatsurishibai".

Edit: Oh yeah, I also explained what the property of Yumeton chakra is, like Futon has "cutting".
